Here you go MC Coaches ! Registration for the Leader's Summit is now open! This event will bring together league leadership, coaches, NICA staff, and those who want to start a team or become a coach. This weekend offers two tracks: one for newcomers and one for returning coaches. Participants will receive classroom training. on the bike coaching certifications, and there is an opportunity for those coaches moving to level 3 to get their NICA approved Wilderness First Aid certification. The Leader's Summit is an opportunity to receive program training and CEU's, learn about PitZone, plan for your season, and talk with other coaches. We have a fun and informative weekend planned and can't wait to see you there! Note: we will be following CV19 mitigation recommendations and requirements so please bring a mask and plan to social distance. We will update as needed. Team - March is a great time to get out on your trail and perform some maintenance. BBMT needs your help to pick up limbs, sticks, clean off the trail bed of debris. Clean out those drainage ditches of the leaf dams so water will flow off the trail and not down the trail. Some of the walkways get leafs/sticks built up on them which need unblocked as well. It is key that the water flow under them freely and not have a chance to build up on the upstream side. The trail will be wet for riding but not for hiking and provides a great opportunity get in your team trail work and some family exercise! It also gets the trail ready for spring time riders. If you notice some soft/swampy spots let Coach Ralph know as we still have a good stockpile of gravel to make armoring from. If you spot any trees down and major limbs, please let Coach Steve know. It's #FirstBike Friday! No matter how long it's been - everyone remembers their first bike, their first mountain bike and those first wild and crazy rides. Celebrating #WomensHistoryMonth - today we're featuring Nikki Peterson -The SoCal High School Cycling League's Program Coordinator and co-host of Girls Moving Mountains! Nikki got her first mountain bike, a SCOTT hardtail, in Victor Idaho when she was 26 and quickly fell in love with the sport, riding after work with a local group. Now, when she's not getting #morekidsonbikes and #moregirlsonbikes in SoCal she races professionally as well! (Feed generated with FetchRSS) […]
